After finishing outside the top-8 in the Eastern Conference last season, the Heat were able to put together a bounce-back season. A big reason for their newfound success is due to the acquisition of Jimmy Butler. Butler ended up in Miami following their sign-and-trade with the Philadelphia 76ers in which they sent Josh Richardson back to Philly. Butler’s deal will keep him in Miami for 4 years and is worth $141 million. He was offered a max contract by the 76ers but opted to head to the Head on a lesser deal. The Heat had a truly successful year this season, jumping to the 4th spot in the Eastern Conference with a record of 41-24. Behind butler was a staunch young core that made huge leaps in development. The Heat finished the year on a good note and are poised to repeat success net season with a young unit led by the veteran Butler.
